Focus 2026.4 is here: New Brand, Bigger Platform, Smarter Infrastructure!

Q1 2026 has been massive. We've shipped a full rebrand, overhauled our Teams recording infrastructure, launched BYO storage, introduced scheduled reports with email notifications, upgraded to .NET 10, and merged everything into a single monorepo. Under the hood there are over 90 pull requests worth of improvements — let's get into the highlights!

🎨 Full Rebrand: Hello Subphonic!​

The biggest visible change — Focus has a fresh new look. We've rolled out an end-to-end rebrand across the platform in two phases, including a new logo, updated favicon, and the transition from Aiphoria branding to Subphonic throughout the codebase and UI. Partner user management has been updated with new prefixes and parent/partner user structures to support the new brand hierarchy. We think you'll agree the new identity sounds just right 🔊

📞 Teams Recording: Rebuilt from the Ground Up​

This has been the single biggest engineering effort this quarter has been to bring the full Microsoft compliant teams recording bots (from OAK) into the Focus family, making sure we keep all that knowledge and power. The Teams recording infrastructure has been fundamentally improved throughout the platform.

  • Per-User Recording Policies — Want to record different things for different users? No problem. You can now set a company-wide default and override it on a per-user basis, giving you full flexibility over who records what.
  • Dual Bot Recording — At its heart, Focus is an AI-first compliance recording platform. We want to make sure we always capture that call, so now we pair our bots to capture two copies of every recording for full resilience. If one bot has an issue, the other has you covered.
  • Automated Provisioning — One click PowerShell scripts to make install super simple
  • Better diagnostics — Recording bots now include better diagnostics allowing the Subphoinc support team to provide even better support

💾 BYO Storage: Your Data, Your Way​

A brand new capability — customers can now bring their own Azure storage accounts for recording storage. Focus will sync, validate, and monitor your storage automatically.

  • New BYO storage sync service with full automated test coverage
  • Validation endpoint to verify storage account configuration
  • Dedicated monitoring service for BYO storage health
  • Automatic sync for users and storage location

📊 Scheduled Reports & Email Notifications​

The reporting engine has levelled up. Reports can now be scheduled to run automatically, and results are delivered straight to your inbox.

  • Scheduled report runner picks up eligible jobs automatically
  • Email notifications sent on report completion
  • Improved email configuration validation with better error messages
  • All existing report types (Call Extract, AI Tags, Legal Hold, Endpoints, Portal Users, SMS Reconciliation) now support scheduling

📡 Observability: Grafana & OpenTelemetry​

We've leveled up all our monitoring on all our services. Better visibility, better dashboards, faster response for support.

🔄 Entra Sync & SSO Improvements​

Enterprise SSO has been improved yet again with role-based provisioning improvements.

  • Entra Sync Locking — Prevents concurrent sync operations from conflicting
  • SSO Role Claims — Group syncs swapped for SSO roles with cleaner settings
  • Child Permissions — New view for parent accounts to see child account permissions
  • Multi-domain filtering - have users that login from more than one domain, now your covered

🤖 Help & Documentation RAG - Private preview​

Focus now has a built-in documentation intelligence layer. We've shipped a RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) agent that can answer questions about Focus using the latest documentation.

  • Documentation RAG service (shipped across 4 PRs)
  • New agent infrastructure for AI-powered help
  • MCP integration for documentation retrieval

🎙️ Transcription Engine Upgrade​

We've upgraded and improved the core transcription engine under the hood, delivering better accuracy and performance across the board.

  • Timing & Alignment Improvements — More accurate word-level timing for cleaner, easier-to-follow transcripts
  • Language Pack Updates — Updated language models for improved recognition across supported languages
  • Groundwork for Analysis Studio — Shhh... more on that soon 👀

🔧 Quality of Life​

As always, alongside the headline features we've shipped a mountain of smaller tweaks, refinements, and fixes across the entire platform. Performance improvements, dependency updates, better error messages, tighter validation, and dozens of little polish items that make the day-to-day experience smoother. These are the kinds of changes you might not notice individually, but together they make Focus feel noticeably better every release.
