People screen overview

The People screen in the Focus is about everyone, Users of the portal and recorded people.

The portal helps you manage and interact with individuals, categorizing them into Subscribers, External contacts, and Users. It provides quick access to profiles, permissions, groups, and communication history related to these specific categories.

People are split into 3 sections / types:

  1. Subscribers
  2. Contacts
  3. Users

Main Screen Overview​

When accessing the People screen, you'll see a dashboard displaying an overview of Subscribers, External contacts, and Users available based on your permissions.

  1. Menu bar - Quickly navigate between different sections within People.
  2. Search bar - Find individuals quickly using names or identifiers.
  3. Add Person - Create a new profile for Subscribers, External individuals, or Users.
  4. Filters - Narrow down the displayed results using quick filters.
  5. Profiles Grid - View summarized information about individuals.
  6. Pagination and Results Count - Shows the total profiles and allows navigation through multiple pages of results.

What's on this section​

  • Subscribers β€” Internal personnel actively using the platform (your recorded staff).
  • Contacts β€” Individuals (typically outside your organisation) who interact with your staff but aren't recorded themselves. Renamed from "External" in 2026.5.1.
  • Users β€” People who log into the Focus portal, added locally or via SSO.
  • Permissions β€” Permission matrix for each Focus role.

Each of the people-type pages above also covers Multi-actions (bulk operations) and Grid customisation (hide / reorder / resize columns) for that type.
